5 Essential Tips for Bridal Hair and Makeup

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and you want to look and feel your best. Bridal hair and makeup play a significant role in achieving this, but there are a few things to keep in mind before your big day. In this blog, we'll cover 5 essential tips to ensure you look stunning on your wedding day.

Are you ready!? I got you!

1. Book early

Wedding hair and makeup services can book up quickly, especially during peak wedding season. Be sure to book your appointment as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The ideal time is 6-8 months before the wedding

2. Schedule a trial:

A trial is essential to ensure that you and your stylist are on the same page with your hair and makeup vision. Schedule your trial at least 4-6 weeks before your wedding day.

  • Have your veil and headpiece; this will inspire the overall look and structure of the hairdo so have them with you at the trial.

  • Bring inspiration: Bring along photos of hairstyles and makeup looks that you like to help your stylist understand your vision. Pinterest is a great resource for inspiration.

  • Be honest: If you don't like something during your trial, speak up. Your stylist is there to make you feel beautiful and confident, so be honest about your preferences.

  • Be open to suggestions: Your stylist is a professional and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Be open to their suggestions and trust their expertise – they want you to look and feel your best on your wedding day!

3. Limit major changes;

  • Color: If you're thinking about changing your hair color, do so at least 3-6 months before your wedding day. This will give you time to get used to your new look and make any adjustments if necessary.

  • Cut: Get a trim; if you're not planning on a major haircut, be sure to get a trim a few weeks before your wedding day to keep your hair healthy and looking its best.

4. Spa Treatments;

Limit those invasive or harsh treatments in the weeks leading to the wedding.

  • Facials; you should be conditioning your skin at least a year before the wedding to see how your skin reacts. In terms of facials, I would recommend 1 week before your makeup trial, see how your skin reacts, and if all goes well, repeat closer to the wedding day.

  • Wedding week: Consider scheduling a relaxing spa treatment, such as a manicure, pedicure, and massage, in the days leading up to your wedding day. This will help you feel calm and refreshed.

5. Keep your hair and skin healthy:

Leading up to your wedding day, be sure to take good care of your hair and skin. This includes drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet, and using high-quality hair and skincare products. Be sure to ask your stylist for recommendations.

Please remember that above all things wedding -you are enough.

As you prepare for your wedding day, it's essential to remember that you are already beautiful and worthy of love and happiness. Bridal hair and makeup can enhance your natural beauty and make you feel even more confident, but it's important to prioritize self-care and self-love leading up to the big day. Remember that you are enough, and you have chosen each other for who you are, not just how you look.

To recap!

  • Take the time to book your appointments early, schedule a trial to ensure you and your stylist are on the same page, and communicate honestly about your preferences.

  • Limit major changes, take care of your skin and hair, and don't forget to schedule some relaxation time before your wedding day.

Remember, this day is about celebrating your love and commitment to each other, so embrace your unique beauty and radiate confidence as you walk down the aisle.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and may your love continue to flourish and grow for years to come! Amen!
